Alexis Gabbriel Dziena (born
July 8, 1984, (pronounced da-ZEE-na)) is an American
actress. She grew up in New York City and went to Saint
Ann's School alongside her Bringing Rain (2003) costar, Paz
de la Huerta. Alexis spent many of her summers, growing up,
in a small South New Jersey shore town, Sea Isle City. Also,
during high school, she attended some classes at the
American Academy of Dramatic Arts and appeared in a number
of plays there. She dated actor Michael Pitt. She currently
resides in Los Angeles.
Career
Alexis Dziena grew up in New York City and went to high
school alongside her Bringing Rain (2003) costar, Paz de la
Huerta. In addition to acting, Alexis Dziena is a budding
playwright and drummer. When she's not writing or on set,
Alexis Dziena can usually be found downtown, with her
brother and boyfriend, dancing late into the night.
Alexis Dziena got her first acting job three years ago on an episode of TNT's Witchblade, and has been working steadily ever since. Alexis Dziena first came to prominence with a starring role in the 2004 Lifetime movie She's Too Young about sexually active and reckless teens, then had a cameo opposite her then-real-life boyfriend Michael Pitt in Wonderland. Later this year Alexis Dziena tortures Amy Sedaris as a mean girl in the Strangers With Candy movie.
In 2005, Alexis Dziena played Lolita (a reference to Vladimir Nabokov's novel Lolita), a teenage girl, in Broken Flowers. Alexis Dziena appeared in scenes with Bill Murray and Sharon Stone. Richard Roeper listed her performance as one of the five "Most startling nude scenes of the year" for 2005.
